Why our Kombucha?

She is mysterious, she is nurturing, she is wellness, and she is powerful.

Simply, HOTI Kombucha is an alternative to sugary drinks that often cause harm rather than wellness and nourishment.

HOTI Kombucha is a raw and unpasteurised, and made from ingredients that contain no gluten or animal products and will have you converted to drinks that are designed to heal and nourish at every sip.

Our Kombucha is wellness, kindness and love.  It is what we love and with one sip, she will have you in love with her too.

Here at HOTI Kombucha we make real Kombucha using raw organic Bundaberg sugar and the highest quality loose leaf tea blends that are added to HOTI’s original culture and left to develop into an amazing bottle of wellness.

It is said when traditionally prepared, Kombucha works to enrich the healthy gut bacteria by adding beneficial acids, yeast and probiotics.

We know this, that’s why every batch of HOTI Kombucha is designed to be enjoyed, not as a tonic, but as a celebration of wellness and health.

It is more than just Kombucha to us, she is life, she is physical and mental health, she is uplifting and to us, she is life changing.

See how HOTI can do this for you.

OUR ETHOS

& Values

We value Wellness, Sustainability and Customer Friendship.  So, everything we do leads us back to these 3 things.

AWARD WINNING

DRINK EASY awarded HOTI first place for Mango Passionfruit, 2nd place for Ginger Glow and 4th place for Blood Orange in their kombucha category.  In addition we placed in the top 10 of the Non-Alcoholic drink category with 2 of HOTI’s favourite flavours, Ginger Glow and Mango Passionfruit.

What started as a hobby in my quest for wellness in 2016, has now transformed into a flourishing business.  I founded HOTI Kombucha to meet a gap in the health beverage market in the Bundaberg, Hervey Bay and Wide Bay region for those looking for a healthier alternative.  Fuelled by my passion and purpose to do what I love, HOTI Kombucha has since become the Kombucha of choice for locals.

HOTI is the first commercially produced Kombucha in the Wide Bay and Bundaberg Region and as a recent winner of the Bundaberg Region Chamber of Commerce 2019 Business Excellence Awards, I’m extremely proud of my achievements.  HOTI Kombucha is now a regular draw card for tourists and is part of the drinks trail organised by Bundaberg Tourism.

I have also been considered a success story with the Females in Food Organisation, inspiring other women in food and drink and was also listed in the top 50 businesses in the Inside Small Business Magazine.  HOTI Kombucha is also a proud member of  Bundaberg Tourism.

I get asked all the time where the name “HOTI” came from…..🙄
.
Well it’s all about being as healthy as possible and that starts in the gut so “Healthy On The Inside” was how HOTI came about!! Tell me you knew that’s what HOTI stood for😊😊😊
.
And while kombucha is not the answer to all our health problems, it’s doing it’s bit to help you make better health decisions.

What’s so good about kombucha?? It contains Saccharomyces Boulardii - the Good Yeast. It’s what helps our kombucha mummas do their best work!

Did you know in addition to the good bacteria in kombucha, there is a special probiotic yeast called Saccharomyces Boulardii (S. boulardii) that is resistant to antibiotics, which makes it incredibly useful for maintaining a healthy gut when treating an illness with antibiotics. It is one of the most researched probiotics and has been used world wide to support gastrointestinal health.

In addition, Kombucha can alleviate constipation and diarrhoea. The probiotic in kombucha, S. boulardii, is actually being used to treat all sorts of bowel disorders including Clostridium difficile, acute diarrhoea, antibiotic-associated diarrhoea, some parasitic forms of diarrhoea and other gastrointestinal disorders.

- Fermented foods are rich in beneficial bacteria, known as probiotics, that can help improve gut health. These live bacteria help balance the gut microbiota, promoting a healthy and diverse ecosystem in the digestive system.
- The consumption of fermented foods can aid in digestion by breaking down food components that are difficult to digest, such as lactose in dairy products or complex carbohydrates.
- Fermented foods can enhance nutrient absorption by increasing the bioavailability of certain vitamins and minerals, such as B vitamins and iron.
- Regular consumption of fermented foods has been associated with improved immune function. The gut microbiota plays a crucial role in immune system regulation, and a diverse and healthy microbial community can help strengthen immune responses.
- Fermented foods can help alleviate symptoms of digestive disorders, such as irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) or inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). The beneficial bacteria in these foods can reduce inflammation and improve gut motility.
- Some research suggests that fermented foods may have a positive impact on mental health. The gut-brain axis connects the gut and the brain, and a healthy gut microbiota is believed to influence mood and cognitive function.
- Fermented foods can help maintain a healthy weight. The gut microbiota has been linked to body weight regulation, and some studies have shown that a diverse and balanced microbiota is associated with a lower risk of obesity.
- Consuming fermented foods can promote overall digestive health and reduce the risk of certain gastrointestinal conditions, such as diarrhea, constipation, and acid reflux.
- Fermented foods are often more easily tolerated by individuals with lactose intolerance or other food sensitivities. The fermentation process breaks down lactose and other irritants, making the foods easier to digest.
- Incorporating fermented foods into your diet can add variety and flavor to your meals, making healthy eating more enjoyable and sustainable. From sauerkraut and kimchi to yogurt and kefir, there are numerous options to choose from.

When you don’t drink alcohol it can be difficult to socialise as our lifestyles are built around enjoying a drink. After work catch-ups, girls night out, drinks by the pool, the list goes on. And if your not an alcohol drinker, this can be a little isolating.
.
While Kombucha is well known for being a more healthier alternative, it’s also a great alternative to alcohol and makes great Mocktails. My favourite, Strawberry Lemonade. Mix HOTI Strawberry and HOTI Limoncello Kombucha, add fresh mint, cucumber and some fresh strawberries and everyone will want what your having 😜 #kombuchamocktail
